This project involved the development of basic and detailed field engineering, additional civil works (construction of trenches, benches, tees, and foundations for 138 kV circuit breakers), additional electromechanical works, inspection and maintenance of the substation’s electrical equipment, and testing of the substation’s control systems and protective equipment.
The successful completion of this initiative in 2022 helped improve the functionality and reliability of the Arreaga Substation in Latin America.
The scope of this project included the critical restoration of direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) systems, as well as the comprehensive upgrade of the control panels for the 138 kV and 24 kV bays. It also involved consolidating the infrastructure improvements initiated during the previous phase of the project. This involved the repair of electromechanical components to reduce downtime. In addition, operating and protection protocols were updated for personnel and power equipment.
